Using Asset Risk Assessment to Drive Improvement – A Case Study

Perspective
Uptime Stage
Day 01

Our client’s approach for assessing asset-related risks was inconsistent across its multiple locations, relied heavily on subjective personal judgement, and asset risks were not being used effectively to guide decision-making. We assisted the client by developing a Risk and Reliability Assurance Framework that could be applied across their global operations and helped them to roll this out at three of their sites. The resulting reliability improvement action plans targeted those assets which represented the greatest risk to the business.

  • Asset Criticality vs Risk – are they the same?
  • The 5 dimensions of Asset-related risk
  • Where did the data come from to assess the risks?
  • Deliverables and Benefits from the project
  • Challenges, lessons learned and improvement opportunities
